The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their company in Darwin, with the potential to earn an excellent package (negotiable salary based on experience +super +phone).

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for all QS and Estimating tasks in the Capital Works Division.

Reporting to the Managing Director some of your responsibilities include:

  • Reading and understanding drawings
  • Completion of full trade and elemental take-off
  • Analyzing and preparing tenders
  • Prepare BOQ’s
  • Review and negotiate subcontractors bids
  • Prepare cost plans
  • Manage communication between subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are under budget
  • Pricing of projects ensuring profit margins are met
To be successful in this role you must hold a relevant Diploma/Degree/Qualification and have 5+ years experience in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with a building contractor.  You must have extensive experience dealing with Subcontractors, producing Bill of Quantities and analyzing costings for tenders.
You must also have intermediate Microsoft Office skills (particularly in Excel), understand the administrative and reporting requirements of such a role and hold a valid drivers licence.
